He is a sweet-faced boy with a romantic side who loves animals and flowers; his dream for the future is to work in a pet shop. However, he is extremely timid, a crybaby, and easily frightened; he often faints or flees in tears when faced with something scary. That said, his speed allows him to excel at obstacle races, earning him the nickname "Idaten" (Fleet-footed One).
He owns a small dog named "Maru," a versatile companion that sometimes lends its strength to act as Ryuo-chin's *shikigami* (spirit familiar).
He possesses the power of Ksitigarbha (Jizo Bodhisattva) and has spiritual vision superior even to Tetsushi Kanamori’s. His mantra is "On-kaka-bi-sanmai-ei-sowaka," and he excels at creating barriers and protective seals. However, perhaps due to these powers, he has a spiritual constitution that makes him prone to possession by nearby wandering spirits; a downside is that he is affected more intensely than others when visiting haunted locations.
